Meet The Staff of Family Fellowship Dale Davis Different, radical, strange, nontraditional, weird, I’ve been called them all. Perhaps it’s because I didn’t grow up in a balanced, God-loving, Nazarene I met my wife Amelita, who was a Christian, in 1978 and it changed my life forever. We were married in 1979, (I still can’t believe we found a pastor who would marry us), and for the first four years of our marriage I successfully dodged the issue of a relationship with Christ. In 1984, while working for a Nazarene Church’s Preschool, my wife invited me one Sunday to attend a VBS program with her in which our sons were participating. It was there I met God face-to-face and for the next five weeks I wrestled with God until finally at an open altar of prayer she led me through the sinner’s prayer with our sons wrapped around my neck praying, “Jesus save our daddy.” Six months later I felt called into full time ministry and we loaded up the kids and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and Nazarene Bible College. After two years of preparation, we accepted a call to pastor a church in Sparta, Wisconsin where we served for 4 years and I was ordained as an Elder in the church. I have served in my present position as lead pastor of Family Fellowship Church for the past 13 years. In 2006, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Development at Fresno Pacific University. My desire is to be used of Christ in any and all ways to reach others for Him.
James Davis James's passion for music started in a local public education music program where he later taught. Most of his experience stems from manageing several long running and award winning musical groups and for being hired as a session man by filling for community events. James has been apart of the FFCN music team in one aspect or another since 1992 and took the reigns as the DoCA in June of 2008. James has been married to his lovely wife, Tiana, since 2002. They currently have two boys.
Amelita Davis I grew up in a family that attended church on Sunday and at eleven, I accepted Christ, and throughout the rest of my teen years I did my best to live a Christian life. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think I would wind up a pastor’s wife but two months after my 18th birthday, on a blind date of all things, I met my future husband. I started working in a small Church of the Nazarene Preschool when both our boys were preschool age and I’ve been hooked on Early Childhood education ever since. In 1990 our family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where my husband prepared for the ministry at Nazarene Bible College. I worked at a State Head Start program during the day and worked on my Women’s Ministry Degree at night. In 1992 we moved to Sparta, Wisconsin where I continued in Early Childhood Education, teaching at a state preschool. In 1996, we were on the road again, this time moving to Selma, California where I took the job of Head Teacher at a new preschool, Little Miracles. The following year, I accepted the Director’s position which I held for 11½ years, before moving on to an exciting new ministry, holding the dual title of Director of Joyful Beginnings Preschool and Enrichment Center and Director of Family Ministries at Family Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. My desire is to used by Christ and I thoroughly love interacting with children and sharing the Good News that Jesus cares about them. |
